Hello and welcome OCCED\Nepal quarterly ebullient to keep you informed and up-to-datewith extension activities, events and program going on in OCCED\ Nepal.
1. Happy New year 2016
We would like to greet New Year to all our friends, sponsors , donors and well wishers. OCCED children made lovely Christmas and New Year greeting card to their sponsors on this occasion . All the cards have been sent to sponsors. OCCED family is so happy to receive response and greeting back. We have already mentioned in our last bulletin that OCCED Home is moved to a new house . Its own house. It had been reformed , reconstructed and, decorated as per need of children and children are living there happily and comfortable. Children are going to school regularly and doing better in class.Children of toddler group (6 children) are being admitted to Orchid Garden Nepal (Montessori) which is very close to OCCED Home . They are very happy to be in school and studying in nursery and UKG.
This year 2016 , five children (4 boys 1 girl) are appearing in SLC board Examination (school living certificate ) which is going to be held in April and result will be published around last week of June.Due to some technical cause and government rules and regulation this house has not been registered in OCCED name but we are in process and assure you all it will be completed within two months.
2.Water Purification System
New Life International, USA,(through local agent ) has installed Water Purification System in OCCED HOME.With the installation of this system OCCED children getting pure and safe drinking water. We would like thank to New Life International for their generous contribution to OCCED/Nepal .
3. Replacement of Water Pump
OCCED has got both under ground water drilling and government water supply for water supply. But we need a powerful water pump for collecting water from hole. So we got a powerful horsepower water pump. We hope it will help us getting sufficient water.
Coming of volunteer from abroad and Nepal is ongoing part of OCCED/Nepal Children Home. Volunteers provided service to OCCED Home in different field , such as health, cleanliness, helping in study depending upon expertise.Mrs. Kelly and Ms. Claire Kozub gave their valuable service as volunteers.
6.Have a Nice Day Program:
You all know that “Have a nice day” program is one of the very special programs of OCEED/Nepal. It is about celebrating key moments of your life birth days, wedding anniversaries, happy events and memories with children of OCEED/Nepal. You can help OCCED Home Participating in HANDS program means supporting some expenses of one day food the children. Several persons have participated in this program. The cost is £ 75.00 /105.00 Euros and Rs.6,000.00 .

Mr. Bibek Lal Shrestha and his friends Mr. Bikin Rajbhandari, Mr. Shrijesh Tuladhar, and Ms. Prinyank Pradhan donated muffler, shocks and gloves to all 34 children residing in OCCED Home.

7.Drama by OCCED Children:
Shailee Theatre and Russian Cultural center have jointly organized Child Drama competition in Russian Cultural Centre from 25th -28th Feb. 2016,on the occasion of 7th the National Child Drama Festival. Children of OCCED/Nepal performed the drama KUMARI” in that competition, which was based on the story of living goddess Kumari , directed by Ms. Kamala Upreti.
8.Adopted family visited to OCCED Home:
1. Mr. and Mrs. Cormio from Italy visited the OCCED/Home with their daughter Radha who was adopted from OCEED Nepal eight years ago. This is their first visit in eight years. The children from OCEED/Nepal welcomed them. They visited the entire OCCED home and were delighted to see the improvement. Children were delighted by the reunion and celebrated it by cutting cake brought by Cormio family .
There were discussion about Thomson Reuters matching fund and its procedures. After the discussion, OCEED/Nepal has dully filled out the form as suggested by Mrs, Cormio and submitted the application to Thomson Reuters.It is our pleasure to share with you all meeting was very fruitful.that we received news from Mr. Dave Mauro on 09March 2016 saying, OCCED Nepal has been fully approved for Thomson Reuters program.

12. Itahari Youth Club
Under the management of OCCED/Nepal Itahari Youth Club and Samudayik Samaj Bikash Sanstha , one day free eye camp was organized. 235 eye patients have been examined and 35 patients have been referred to Ram Lal Golchha Hospital, Biratnagar for further treatment.Tree Plantation and health & Sanitation awareness program: OCCED youth club of Itahari has organized one day tree plantation and awareness program of health and sanitation program in Mushahar Basti .
On January 2016 , about 300 pieces warm clothes and 35 blankets were distributed to Mushahar group in Itahari. This program was organized by Itahari Youth Club Occed\Nepal .
